My name is Damien Desmond Downes. Musician, one time punk rocker, whatever. Born and raised in Newport, South Wales. Passion for music, and the environment, and always for a good just cause.I deplore fassion, celebrity and all things that some of society cherish, yet has now real value. You know the saying, "to know the cost of everything and the vale of nothing"...Child of the eighties, Thatcherism and greed. Elected new Labour, new era and the dawn of global conflict. There most be hope.Been playing guitar since I had my first one at the age 11, went on to start my first band in school with my old co writing partner Richard Braithwaite, released a single on the old Le Pub record label "Size 8". After a period in education, I then started my new band Ryder with Richard and played the South Wales circuit. Following a brief break I joined the ranks of punk rock and roll outfit, the Strawberry Blondes. Playing a whole raft of shows round the country, and recording sessions for Radio 1 and Radion Wales, and releasing a full length LP.
