About Me

Introduction: 99 amp fuse is the side project of Simon Baugh, a Producer based in the West Midlands. The project contains Experimental music, influenced by a wide range of music such as Progressive House, Progressive Rock and Electronica.
Producing off and on for 10 years has allowed 99 amp fuse to experiment with a range of production and recording techniques which has resulted in the following tracks.
History:Starting out making commercial style Trance and Funky House songs in Music and Music 2000 in early 1999 gave Simon Baugh an appetite for producing electronic music. Branching out into more experimental material in 2000 as well as continuing with the more commercial side of things, gave him the chance to experiment with a range of Production Techniques, allowing him to develop as a Producer.
Taking a break from Music production to move into Radio Production in 2001 (in the shape of enrolling on a Media course at Walsall College). Allowed Simon to experiment with a range of programs such as Adobe Audition and Sound Forge. This sharpened his audio mixing and editing skills and properly introduced him to the digital effects plug-ins used during the mixing and mastering processes.Initially this was put to use whilst editing radio material such as Jingles, Interviews and Songs ready for broadcast and producing Radio Features.
In Spring 2004, these techniques were put to use again, when 99 amp fuse got his hands on a copy of Cubase and got back into Music Production. Only this time, more seriously. Using a professional standard program allowed him to incorporate the mixing techniques learnt previously, as well as giving him a greater level of creative freedom .
Undertaking a Music Technology degree at Staffordshire University (which started in September 2004) encouraged him to start using Reason for production as well as Cubase, as Reason was used quite heavily for one of the First Year Music Technology modules.
As the Music Technology course progressed, Simon was introduced properly to Pro Tools, seeing the impact that Pro Tools ( both HD and LE) had when it was put to use for mixing and mastering, eventually encouraged him to use Pro Tools LE to aid him, especially at the post-production stage.
After graduating from the Music Technology course in 2007, Simon decided to continue with the DJ'ing and Production ( along with everything else!) and in April 2008, his side project, 99 amp fuse, was born.
