About Me

BIO: Diamondback Rattler is a captivating ensemble whose unique style of twisted psychedelic country rock sets a real challenge to draw a comparison to. After their hypnotic live set their audiences are either blown away, or they’re left in a catatonic state!

To capture the theme and colour of this band, imagine the sound track of a rattlesnake moving across desert sands while keeping the rhythm of a galloping stallion in a dark, droning world of desertly psychedelia. Poetic tales of murderous love, delivered to you by a voice drifting upon soaring wings, feathers in flames as the complex and tribal rhythms of the music meld with heartbreaking melodies.

It’s a sound that is a bit unexpected, but one that people are starting to fall in love with as Diamondback Rattler charms audiences throughout Sydney.

Band Members: Tbone- Vocals, Guitar, Bells. Tristan- Guitar, vocals. Mike- Drums, percussion, vocals. Josh- Keys, vocals.
Influences: The Band, Pink Floyd, Crazy Horse, Gram Parsons, Dylan, Townes van Zandt, velvet underground, captain Beefheart, Early Fleetwood Mac and Dirty Three. Books like Tom Wolfe’s ‘The Electric Cool-aide Acid Test”, some of Allen Ginsberge’s, Karouac and Richard Braughtigan. Basically,the whole scene in San Francisco from the 50’s into the early 60’s and both the American Civil Wars. We all seem to like visuals and sound grabs from old western movies, we dig cactus plants, horseshoes and the whole big sky desert thing. Oh and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.
Sounds Like: Desert Music. If you had taken peyote and woke up in Mexico surrounded by rattlesnakes and were playing a game of Russian roulette with your lover who was a hit man, “Diamond Back Rattler would be the sound track.
