Welcome Bay Area, I go by the name of KING CYDAL & I'm a rapper/producer out of Menlo Park, CA. I been rapping since the age of 16 and been elevating my style ever since. Before I even thought about rapping, my older brother Mainsqueeze(then known as Cool Breeze) was apart of the pioneering rap group Rated X in the early 90's era. Rated X went on to record 3 albums before parting ways.
After years of absence from the rap game, Mainsqueeze would soon discover the hidden talents his little brother had to offer. Making it to the NBA was one of my biggest dreams, but fell as fast as my grades dropped. When I was told that I had to sit out my sophomore year in highschool, my rebound was turning to what I grew up watching my brother do, RAP.
I began to recite his raps repeatedly until the point where I became confident enough to start writing my own. I ended taking it serious & hooked up with a good friend of mine, Dontae "The Unexpected" Smith and went to a local studio to record some of my first ever recordings. The feedback we recieved made me want to continue rapping for good.
After playing the new music for my brother, he immediately took notice & began to take me more serious with my music. At the end of 2001, Mainsqueeze started Blockmade Records. I'm currently completing my first album & it will be in stores in 2006!
As I began this album, I eventually taught myself how to make beats. After a while of perfecting my production craft, I felt that it was time to test my beats out a little bit. After hooking up with the Done Deal camp, I wounded up hooking up with Ya Boy. I went on to produce Ya Boy's single "Turf 2 The Club" as well as "On Fire", & "It's Easy" for his debut album entitled Rookie of The Year. I will also be appearing on various production credits in 2006 as well.
