Sons of Godzilla
In what can only be described as a stroke of genius, Andy Loudermilk, David Henretta, Tony Rife, and Mike Bright decided upon being discouraged with their current music scene and their current bands to team up for one night and deliver a jaw dropping show at Linda's Bar and Grill on March 18th, 2004. On the heels of this successful show they left their respective bands and formed the Sons of Godzilla. This line-up recorded a self titled cd in April and stayed together until the summer of 2004.
Debuting September 28th, 2004 in their first show with the band were Kenny Hightower on bass replacing Tony Rife, and Marc Peterson ..boards and rhythm guitar. This line-up lasted till the winter of 2005 upon which Marc was gone from the band. In the fall of 2005 the band recorded their second cd titled "Do You Have the Nerve to Face the Sons of Godzilla" and the line-up stayed this way until the summer of 2006 until Mike moved away. The band continued on playing shows in the summer of 2006 borrowing Stone Grove's drummer Stephen Spivey.
In the fall the band was hit with the worst thing that could ever happen to a band and first most as friends, an ailing Kenny passed away at the end of October of 2006. On Halloween the band played what was billed as a final farewell show, as a band and to their dear friend Kenny. After this show the band was no more, Steven went back to his full time gig, David and Andy took a much needed break....
In March of 2007, 7 months since the last show, 5 months since Kenny's passing, David and Andy decided it was time to get the band back together. In getting the band back together it came full circle as original bass player Tony Rife was recruited to join again and Chad Cleaver was brought in to play the drums.
As of September 2008 the band has regrouped yet again, the newest edition along side David and Andy is the rejoining multi-instrumentalist Marc Peterson, definitely a welcome addition.
