Please keep checking back to take a look at my blogs. I have a lot of interesting subjects to write about that will hopefully pique your interest or give you new insight. The purpose of my blogs is to get people to think and expose them to truths and/or different ideas that they may otherwise not be aware of. Remember to keep an open mind while reading!
I will be editing and updating them a little from time to time - some may have larger amounts of editing, therefore I suggest you read them again so you don't miss anything (look for the (EDITED) note after the title). In general, the length of my blogs are reasonable, with some being longer or shorter than others.
To my non-American readers: Most of what I have written is aimed at Americans, so it may be difficult to understand what I am writing about or my viewpoint. However, I hope my blogs at least give you a glimpse into American culture.

My name is Valerie - not "Val" or "Valarie"...just Valerie. I've recently met a milestone in my education by achieving an Associates in Science degree, and I eagerly await what the future will hold for me. In two more years, I will have my Bachelors of Arts in Geology, my field of passion. I'm one of those devout Roman Catholics who baffle most people because I'm so heavily into the sciences. I feel that science gives us a better understanding and a better appreciation for the fascinating and mysterious universe God has created.
I'm going to be forthright (a new favorite word) and say that I am mentally ill. I suffer from a lifelong phobia, but I am slowly making progress. I owe a lot to Saint Jude, the patron saint of the impossible and of hopeless cases, for helping me with my mental problems and for helping me improve my life. Before he helped me, I was a very different and not so pleasant Valerie, and even now I still try to improve on many things. Sometimes I still fail, but I keep trying because nothing is ever truly hopeless.
I remember when I was younger, even a few years ago when I was in high school, and I'd create fantasies in my head or get lost in manga or anime to escape reality and boredom. However, I feel like an adult now because I no longer have such a great interest in those things. Instead, I find myself dreaming of my future - finishing school, working within the field of geology, getting married and starting a family, designing my future home, and publishing my books. Now, life is so much more fun than a mere fantasy!
My favorite words, starting with my most favorite, are "sprinkle(s)," "pickle(s)," and "proboscis." Other favored words include "surreptitiously" and "volatile." However, using them in a sentence while communicating with me will not earn you Valerie-points. You can gain Valerie-points by presenting me with a real pickle, rainbow sprinkles (not the spheres), a bat, and/or a hummingbird. One point for each separate object!
