I am a fun-loving yet reclusive person. I'm a libra, so I have to have balance in my life. I have a tendency to be both an introvert and extrovert. I like to have a good time and hang out with friends (as long as Jason is with me). I enjoy technical rock climbing, white water rafting, skiing, fishing, camping, and a lot of other outdoor activities. Yet, I am also perfectly content hanging out in my room for a few days straight doing nothing but reading, sleeping, eating, listening to some music, crocheting or knitting, watching movies, playing video or computer games, surfing the net, or some combination of those things, all while procrastinating, of course. :) I obviously have plenty of things to do, and that's why it's so easy for me to procrastinate. I think I'll need to build a padded cell for myself that contains nothing but my schoolbooks and a desk. Then, maybe, just maybe, I could get some real work done in a timely manner!
Oh, and I love to sing. I've been in school choirs since I was in 6th grade, and I haven't missed a single semester of being in the ENMU choirs yet. Sadly, I just finished my last semester of choir since I'll be student teaching in the Spring and will probably be too busy to join as a grad student. A few years ago, I joined a women's barbershop quartet, Resonate. I guess that was my sophomore year. It was tons of fun!! We haven't been active since that first semester. Muy triste.
I also try to be crafty. I have picked up knitting and crocheting in the last few years, and am really enjoying them. I tried my hand at crocheting doilies, and I think I did a pretty good job. I also made a neat pair of mittens for my sister, which was also quite fun! They matched a hat I had made her a few months before that. I'm glad she ended up liking them... or at least pretended to! I'm also in the middle of like 10 scarves, a blanket, a really neat afghan made up of 63 different patterned squares, a tank top, a little purse, and I'm ready to start another doily... oh, and I made about 100 3" crocheted snowflakes for my wedding... but my Aunt helped me finish another 100 or so since it was taking up too much of my time. She's great!
Oh, and yes, by the way, I am a nerd. I'm a MATH major. Yuck, right? Eh, it's not so bad. I enjoy the heck out of it! More specifically, my major is Mathematics Composite with Secondary Licensure, and my minor is Computer Science. I really want to teach high school math after I get my master's in education, but I could totally get some type of computer programming job or something technical like that with the degree I'm earning. We'll see. But yep... Total geek. Just thought you should know. :D

Music:
I enjoy listening to pretty much anything but rap. I have been ever so slowly coming around to a little of that, though, too. I enjoy music from musicals such as the Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls, etc. I also love oldies, mostly from the 60s, and a lot of classical music. Oh, and Christmas Carols. I very rarely get tired of them, at any time of the year. Also... Barbershop!
Some of my all-time favorites are artists that I can sing along with well: Jewel, Evanescence, Selena, Sarah McLachlan, Alison Krauss, Shania Twain, Norah Jones, Toni Braxton, Liz Phair, Martina McBride, Rebecca St. James, Alanis Morissette, Mariah Carey, TLC, The Judds, etc. Mostly female individual singers rather than groups, and kinda soft-ish sounds overall...
Don't worry, I also enjoy male music artists, too: Jason Mraz, Usher, Maroon 5, Nickelback, Hoobastank, Green Day, Sugarcult, Aerosmith, Linkin Park, Weird Al, Steven Lynch, Sugar Ray, Andrea Bocelli, Garth Brooks, Diamond Rio, Alan Jackson, Lifehouse, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, etc., and... (guiltily admits to BSB, N*Sync, LFO, 98 Degrees, etc.)
Movies:
Sneak peek at Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
(Preview from HPANA.com)
I love any movie with Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, Bruce Willis, Julia Roberts, or Sandra Bullock. Also, the Harry Potter movies, especially GOF (even though they practically left out the entire first half of the book!), and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I also liked Eragon (althought it seems like they put most of their budget into the CGI and ignored some other stuff... came out kinda sci-fi-channel-esque). I love movies, but I don't see many because I don't actually get out much. I need to fix that... both the seeing movies part and the getting out part!
Television:
I don't so much watch television while it's actually on anymore... I have to go back and buy the DVDs, download shows, or learn how to use the DVR! My favorites are (were): Friends, Family Guy, and Invader Zim! And how could I forget CSI, SVU, House, and Scrubs!?!? I've also recently gotten addicted to Journeyman. :) Happy-making!
And my favoritest show ever is Heroes!
Books:
Not exactly a book, but I've become addicted to a web comic called Questionable Content. Check it out at:

http://www.smbc-comics.com/I like to read! A lot! Some books I've enjoyed: The Chronicles of Narnia series (CS Lewis); the Artemis Fowl series (Eoin Colfer); the Harry Potter series (JK Rowling); A Series of Unfortunate Events (Lemony Snicket); all the Georgia Nicolson diaries (Louise Rennison); Angels & Demons, The Da Vinci Code, Digital Fortress (Dan Brown); Tithe, Valiant (Holly Black); Wicked (Gregory Maguire); The Undomestic Goddess (Sophie Kinsella); Lamb, Fluke, Coyote Blue, The Stupidest Angel, Bloodsucking Fiends, Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove, A Dirty Job, Island of the Sequined Love Nun, and Practical Demon Keeping (Christopher Moore); Eragon, Eldest (Christopher Paolini); Maus I & II(Art Spiegelman); the Children of the Lamp series (PB Kerr); Jurassic Park, The Lost World (Michael Crichton); Chromosome 6 (Robin Cook); The Giver (Lois Lowry); Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen); Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte); The Hobbit, the Lord of the Rings trilogy (JRR Tolkien), etcetera, blah, blah, blah. I love to read!! I like science fiction and fantasy, even if they're books targeted for adolescents. Youth fantasy fiction is my guilty pleasure!
On my reading list right now: I'm in the middle of: amazingly... nothing at the moment! Michael Crichton's Prey is next on my list, though. I want to get around to: The Spiderwick Chronicles (Holly Black), Confessions of a Shopaholic (Sophie Kinsella), The Dirty Girls Social Club (Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez); A Confederacy of Dunces (John Kennedy Toole); and Deception Point (Dan Brown). Also, a few Gregory Maguire books: Son of a Witch; Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister; Mirror Mirror. I would also like to get around to reading as many Nicolas Sparks, Michael Crichton, Stephen King, and Anne McCaffrey books as possible, eventually. It might be a while. :)
Looking forward to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!
UPDATE: Loved it! An unexpected series of plot twists, maybe, but I loved it!

Heroes:
excellent television series! Anyway, my real heroes are:Jesus, my mom, dad, and sister, my Jason, Tarin, Mickie, and Josh. I also consider many other family members and close friends to be my heroes, as well as some super-dynamic teachers/professors and coworkers I've had. I can only strive to make myself a collage of the good aspects of as many of the people I know as possible... but I'm not going to list them here, or the list would be longer than the list of "some" of the music I like.I think I need to idolize someone who doesn't procrastinate... maybe it'll rub off on me!
