REPROBATE - PLANET CRUSHING DEATH METAL

"This I believe in... I believe in death. I believe in disease. I believe in injustice and inhumanity, torture and anger and hate... I believe in murder. I believe in pain. I believe in cruelty and infidelity. I believe in slime and stink and every crawling, putrid thing... every possible ugliness and corruption, you son of a bitch. I believe... in you."

We launched this site in May 2008 and since then the we've had a steady run of folks stopping by and listened to our music. It's always difficult when you're producing any form of music to appreciate that what you have actually achieved is appreciation from other folks who take time out of their day to have a listen and check it out. Thank you to you all.

Reprobate's material is generally focused on Religious, Pagan or Medieval subjects, "JUDAS CRADLE" covers the medieval torture device of the same name (http://www.medievality.com/judas-craddle.html) whereas the subject matter for "TRANQUILITIES ABORTION" is a rather unique take on the virgin birth of Christ. Many subjects are gained from day to day stuff, such as movies as the ever popular "WICKERMAN" (hear it on the March (181) Terrorizer Magazine cover CD!!) and the later "Le Carceri" are testament to.

The music is a collaboration between Steersy, Gary, Joe and SMJ with each being responsible for many different aspects of the music and it's arrangement providing Reprobate with a totally unique sound and direction. SMJ, never being a fan of the blast beat adopted by many drummers, prefers a more powerful and solid approach to the rhythm arrangements which may be best experienced on the majestic "CANTO 7" which begins with frenzied guitar riffing and lively drumming until finding it's own tempo and setting the mood for an altogether darker journey in to the unknown, the atmosphere intensifies around half way in of this eleven minute opus.

Lyrically the absolute credit must be set at the feet of Simon Lee where the lyrics for the songs were inspired by many a different subject but contained such detail, the opening verse to "JUDAS CRADLE" for example "Bastards, heretics, apostates, Jews, witches and warlocks - You’re summoned before us, accused of acts of such evil. - Blasphemers and traitors, whores and healers - Your tongue shall be loosened, we induce you to confess" delivering so much detail to listeners at the speed some of the songs demanded is quite incredible.

REPROBATE is about music and its delivery, never a political or radical organisation, satanic or group with intent, all that stuff is pretty much well covered these days by one band or another and that's cool. REPROBATE is one of the heaviest Metal bands ever to exist, thanks for stopping by and taking a listen.
