Clarinet, Sax and Flute player. Conductor, composer and arranger.
Has studied classical Clarinet at the Norwegian State Academy of Music, and Ethno-musicology at the University of Oslo, with additional studies in Trinidad & Tobago.
Free-lance musician for many years, mostly soloist and with folk/jazz bands, but also with theatre and orchestras. Has led various bands and recorded several CD’s with own material, among them 5 with Bayou Blue. The recorded version of his musical show Marsjen til New Orleans was included in the selection of Arts Council Norway of 2004. Is currently doing the school circuit for Rikskonsertene with his own production Radio New Orleans. Among latest works are Åben Port for Sax and rappers, which he wrote for the opening of Stavanger 2008, when the region was European capital of culture, and the musical Edvard's Mareritt, for choir and band, a free interpretation of the music of Edvard Grieg. Is now working on two different shows for the 150 year anniversary of his hometown Sandnes, in 2010.
Has guest-toured with many bands, had many long days at festivals in and out of Norway, and participated on a great number of records. These are just a few: John Wilson & the Zydeco House Rockers (USA), Cinquillo Pinero (Cuba), Ãndigo (Portugal), Hard Luck Blues Band (Norway), Reidar Larsen (Norway), Olav Larsen and the Alabama Rodeo Stars (Norway).
Is also working as a wine writer and importer, with special focus on Spain and Portugal, which he visits regularly. Wrote the first book about Spanish wines in the Norwegian language in 2005.
