THE DESCENSION
The Church Project warmly welcome you to the ceremony of The Descension to take place on Wed 24th, Thur 25th, Fri 26th and Sat 27th at 9pm at SHUNT.
The Ceremony will be conducted from the chapel of Descension constructed by Brother Casey.
The Ceremony shall be led and sermon read by Father Bojesen, with The Church choir and string section supporting.
The limb that has been sawn where faith once sat is now mulch against the forest floor, yet what we must discover is clear – can that mulch feed trees afresh so they at least can have fruit to bear?

OF THE PREACHERS OF DEATH
(An overview of a starting point)
Of the Preachers of Death is the title of an art piece by John M F Casey; it takes the form of an elaborately decorated lectern that combines carpentry and scratch painting to illustrate a passage from Nietzsche. The piece was displayed at the group show Parasites at the Ada Street Gallery in March 2009. Casey approached writer and performer Emile Bojesen with the proposal of conducting a ceremony/sermon from the lectern at the private view; this occurred on 26/03/09 and was documented by filmmaker Millie Harvey. They are now engaged in developing this “church†project through the addition of more church furniture and artwork, the refinement of the performance element, the composition of an illuminated manuscript and the involvement of more people. They are currently seeking future shows and investigating funding options.

I strolled along a midnight path beside a cool canal, the purple, oozy shadows of branches stroked the water softly, the silhouettes of trees were shot through intermittently by the bright cycloptic gaze of streetlamps, the light lay upon the lazy mist rising from the dark channel, giving it a fluorescent aura as it quaffed out deep and oily vapours.
