Rutabaga Bugaloo! hails from the great state of Kentucky! Home of Kentucky Fried Chicken and an Amish community. You shouldn't eat KFC, you should get yourself a big, healthy taste of Rutabaga Bugaloo! It's sure to fill the void in your empty stomach and make you happy!
NEWSFLASH! Be sure the pick up the new copy of Rolling Stone magazine next month! There's a short blurb about Rutabaga Bugaloo! Well... heck, why wait? Here you go:
Rutabaga Bugaloo's latest album "Root-abaga" contains moments of depth and taste, and overall does not in any way suffer from any form of regrettable absence of originality. "Wear A Garbage Can (And Fly to the Sea)" has an attractive simplicity that is catchy and not easily forgotten. This song does not have "one-hit wonder" written anywhere on it. Critics have already labeled Rutabaga Bugaloo as the new Tori Amos, but the only connection I can see is that they both play the piano, and are both, obviously, critically acclaimed. There's lots here to make a fuss about. There is a clear and precise distinction from one song to the next. Their cover of the Rolling Stones classic, "Paint It Black," is absolutely astounding. I shouldn't complain so much I suppose, it is nice to see this trend of young songwriters invading the pop scene. Perhaps Rutabaga Bugaloo will open a few doors for other more talented songwriters.
