About Me

"A good band with a mediocre drummer you get a mediocre band. A mediocre band with a good drummer you get a good band. A good band with a good drummer you get a great band!" - Ginger Baker
Hello...MySpace Cadets! I guess....it had to happen....I am here on My Space....for your listening and dancing pleasure. So about me...well...I woke up on earth one day....a long long time ago...and I found myself lying on the living room floor of this house that belonged to these people who I later found out were my parents....There was an 8" Utah speaker next to my left ear, blaring something about "a log cabin made of earth and wood" and some guy named Johnny......that didn’t sound too nice..probably didn’t have as nice of carpet as I was on just then...but then it got to the part about "maybe some day you’re name will be in lights" and I said...OH! this thing is about me!...but who’s Johnny??? So I didn’t pay that problem too much mind and set out to figure out how to get to the good part. I began playing professionally at 11 in a few nightclubs and teen clubs and the like. Drums were the chosen instrument as that seemed to be what I did best. Played alot of gigs with good friends for most of my primary, jr. high, and high school years...then traveled a bit playing out of state in bars and frat houses...I got offered a gig with this group from Houston called Christopher Cross...actually I had to fight my way in. I was still just a kid and they were older...Then we....became he... and we made a couple of Gold and Platinum records and he won a bunch of awards....We toured the world and played all the big places...Hollywood Bowl, London Palladium, Radio City Music Hall..you know...we had some good runs also opening for the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac. After that, I played with a lot of folks around Austin...joined up with the legendary musician Eric Johnson... more gold and platinum...and worked steadily with him for about 10 years, all the while working with great folks around Austin like Mark Hallman, Will Sexton, Charlie Sexton, David Holt, Kris McKay, Mandy Mercier, Chris Holzhaus, Lance Keltner, Austin All Stars, Bruce Robison, Charlie Robison, Sarah Hickman, Eliza Gylkison, Jake Andrews...you name it...I probably played with ’em somewhere along the line. I got back with Ej in 2003. We’ve toured a bunch and we have a DVD in the works and a new album soon as well. I do lp recording sessions, jingles, live touring...See ya on the funway!
