As for the headline...it was once promised to me by a classmate that one day, he will make it a movie title(of course that would be at least eight yrs from now, when he gets out of the navy...Dave..yeah I am talking about you)
Well, I was born in China, yes the communist side, and lived there for a little over ten years. Came to this country knowing absolutely nothing and had to start all over. Good thing I never manage to forget my chinese speaking and reading skills, writing on the other hand, was getting kind of rusty. When I first moved to this country, I lived in Harrison, New Jersey, after spending three years there, my parents finally decided that it was a bad neighberhood to raise a kid. Moved to Parsippany in 1993, found a house for under $200k and that became our new home. Went through Central Middle School and Parsippany High, did my share of dues. Cannot clame to be the best or one of the best wrestlers or football players, but def had a lot of fun, made friends and recorded many interesting memories. Although those days did not seems to be the best times of my life, but now I can always look back at those days and remember how imteresting and care free it was.
Recieved my nomination from Congressman Frelinghysen(hope i spelled his name right) and entered US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The four years away from home taught me many things, along with helping me become a much more mature person. It was truly a love-hate relationship, I mean, it was a great place to be from and to get my education, however, the way it was laid out and the system and amount of freedom lead to many frustrations. Do miss it at times, but then again, do I really miss the place or the friends and friendships that were built there.
Selected a ship out of San Diego during ship selection and been out here since July of 04, did a tour in the Arabian Gulf, saw many things, had many adventures and somehow still alive (yes David, trying to drag your drunkass out of some side street with absolutly no light and had absolutely no idea where we were was definetly amount one of them on top of my list).
Recently brokeup with the girl I have known for over four years. I still love her, but it finally came to the point we cannot come to an agreement regardless how hard we try. Although it is sad and frustrating, yet I believe it happened for a reason and glad that it happened before it's too late into our relationship. I mean the thought of being with this girl for rest of my life cross my mind a few times, but for some reason, our priorities in life just does not match.
Back from SWOS a few months ago, finally earned my SWO pin. How sad, that a lot of times in the military, people judge you by what pins you wear and what is pinned to your collar without truly know who you are. It is sad that men could be so shallow, that we sometimes overlook what is truly ahead of us because we could only look and see as far as that little medal device on their clothing (I guess Napolean was right, give him enough medals and he can lead his troops to conquor the world). What happen to true honor and courage. What happen to being a real man, a warrior? I am just as guilty as the rest, after all, I still salute the guy that is a higher rank. Now I will stop the complaining and say thank you for taking your time to reading this, nice to know that you care. You are welcomed to join me as a friend and please message whenever.
As for the very soon future, I am looking forward to start prototype in Ballston Spa, NY. I'll be renting a place in Charlton, hopefully the commute would not be too bad and school will go well. Wish me luck, and I will see you all soon. And thanks for Ashely's page, I took the Jersey test and here is the result: You scored a 62% on the "how fucking JERSEY are you?" Quizie!
