"Every man is the builder of a temple called his body." Henry David Thoreau
"Your body is not a temple. It's an amusement park, enjoy the ride." Anthony Bourdain
Let's say I find amusement within my temple ....
"I wrote the story myself. It's about a girl who lost her reputation and never missed it." Mae West
I was born and raised in Paris France.
I am Jewish but strictly non-kosher.
As Golda Meier said:
"It is not only a matter, I believe, of religious observance and practice. To me, being Jewish means and has always meant being proud to be part of a people that has maintained its distinct identity for more than 2,000 years, with all the pain and torment that has been inflicted upon it. "
My family roots are from Mongolia. My mother is an Ashkenazi Jew - West European - and from her and her parents I received the love of reading, an insatiable hunger for knowledge, a pride in my Jewish heritage, an obsession with WWII and the Shoah, a devoted love of the USA, humor, guilt and paranoia.
My father is a Sephardic Jew - from North Africa - and being his daughter taught me a great knowledge in my religion, but also my hatred for men, a disgust of gambling, an unconditional respect for women, an incapacity to trust, and drove me to marry an abusive man. In my teenage years I went from being miss popular to being a punk living in a squat and I am proud of all of it.
My favorite subjects were math, philosophy, history and politics and I believe that life can't be understood without these.
...and without a great sense of humor...Gandhi said that if he didn't have a sense of humor he would have commit suicide
My shrink told me I was a a rebellious teenager in the body of a mother.
I spent my sophomore year in Phoenix, Arizona and ever since I knew my life was here, in this amazing country.
I am blessed with four sons Lenny Ruben Tom Maalon and a daughter Tania - Tom and Tania are twins -.
Being a mother is the best "thing" that happened to me, and I believe that becoming a mother is the most responsible choice a woman can have to make, and no woman should be denied the right to be a mother and the choice to not be one.
I moved in America in 2001, just a month before September 11. I took my children away from a growing anti-Semitism, willing to give them the chance of the American Dream.
I can't imagine living in a different country and the day I will be blessed to become an American citizen will be a second birth and shall be marked in my flesh with the greatest pride.
I am 66% Punk Rock.
