UPDATE: I just made some investments and also got a graduation present from the parentals! Songs from now on will be recorded on dual CAD M179 studio condenser mics and the keyboard was upgraded to a beautiful Yamaha Motif XS8!! Very exciting. However, for the stuff that is up online now....The songs are recorded on a Boss BR-1600cd multitrack recorder and mixed in the same unit. The only instruments I used were a Taylor 410-CE or Takamine EG523SC guitar, a 10-year-old Yamaha PSR-530 keyboard which also was used for all percussion, and a piece of crap Radioshack omnidirectional microphone. I don't know anything about EQs, compression, or anything about recording in general so forgive my amateurism. Also, the songs recorded are not in perfect form with some errors in synchronization, timing, pitch, and just about everything else. When I have time, I will fix them.
About me...I am a 25-year-old medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, about to graduate in May. That's right, ladies, I'm going to be a doctor. Donovan is my middle name. I grew up on a small farm in Bellbrook, OH and took classical piano lessons with an almost total lack of diligence for about 11 years. I picked up the guitar in 9th grade and immediately afterwards got my first girlfriend. I stopped playing 2 months later (my fingers hurt) and she dumped me. I graduated from high school in 2002 and went on to a relatively unpleasurable collegiate stay at Case in Cleveland, OH. I went on to med school in 2005, where I have been for the past four years. I have two younger brothers, love my Mom and Dad very much, didn't drink until I was 21 (but made up for lost time), and have fierce road rage. My mom plays violin and piano and is a nurse, my Dad plays guitar and is an Anesthesiologist, and my brothers both play guitar and are clowns. Did I take my own pictures to put on this site and then alter them in photoshop? yes. Do I feel like a tool about it? yes.
My musical tastes are wide and range from classical, to 90's alternative, 70's rock, indie, acoustic, techno, bluegrass and celtic, with my favorite band of all time and first concert I ever attended being the Smashing Pumpkins. Hit up my facebook page for more info.-sam
