Still Inertia

About Me

Jason Kraley expresses his thoughts, emotions, and experiences as they take refuge under the name Still Inertia. Originally emerging from the woodwork of Cleveland in 1993, his music has been uncompromisingly based on experimentation by fusing both electronic and acoustic rhythms, sounds and samples with real guitars, piano textures and the human voice. With a 70% chance of instrumental tendencies, Still Inertia continually introduces rare elements that successfully paint a different and unique musical landscape with each new song and album. Initially, Still Inertia's continuing personal success has been attributed to the contributions from such wonderfully talented guest musicians like Mike Williams , Amanda North , Shwag McGinty , Joe Minadeo , and the very helpful musician known across the country as Gooding .
October 2005 marked the geographic relocation of Still Inertia and its studio, which has expanded to incorporate the first time use of computer assistance - specifically Sony's ACID Pro 5.0, Soundforge 8, and ProTools. At the moment, 12 songs are in the works for the forthcoming album. There will be an unusually unique blend of vocal tracks as well as instrumentals this time around; all guided by Jason Kraley's somewhat frenetic experiences and adjustments (or misalignments) of relocating to Philadelphia. Perhaps the highlight of this album will be the introductory use of an actual Steinway Grand Piano!
Joining the rotation of existing contributors already including Shwag McGinty , Gooding , Amanda North , and Mike Williams , Still Inertia is warmly welcoming the assistance of guest technicians, musicians, and lyrical writers from across the country including Roto Visage , Elaine Diflavis (from former Philadelphia's "The Side-Effects"), Toshio Mana (from project::in•fin•i•ty ), and Courtney Smith ... and the list of guest talent is growing as of this moment. The new album, entitled " Invested ", also carries with it tremendous support, guidance and voluntary technical assistance from Jason Popejoy, Stephen Keever, Alex Vega, Zach Berman, John Rowland, Keith Royer and last, but very not least, Still Inertia is honored to have the most distinct pleasure of having the Red Rabbit himself go out on a wonderous limb and created a custom made painting and artwork for the design of the upcoming album cover. His vision will appropriately serve as its embodiment of the most mentally dynamic range of emotional wreckage and beauty in audible form Still Inertia has ever composed to date. " Invested " is sure to bring more than one unpleasantly pleasant surprise to your ears.
Until the album is finished (estimated release of Autumn 2007 through early Spring 2008, however, "From The Ancient Center" (Still Inertia's second album) still serves as a meditative bookmark in the pages of Jason Kraley's life.
