marisol limon martinez

i grew up in south texas, where as a child, i found solace in sonatas, fugues and nocturnes. i left for new york at 17 years old for music school, and eventually switched to academia, then painting and drawing, started an anti-war newspaper, moved to paris and wrote my first book, After you, dearest language (ugly duckling presse). in the middle of it all, i met scott matthew in a cafe in the east village and joined his band Songs to drink and drive by. when scott went solo, i joined him as pianist, keyboardist and back-up vocalist. now we tour internationally and record together. we co-wrote the title song There is an Ocean that Divides for the second album which has just been released in europe and japan. in continuation with my songwriting, i started a new project called The Reading with fellow bandmate and DJ m. eugene lemcio. we sing, play keyboards, other lovely little instruments with beats and are now recording an EP. i still do visual art and am also at work on an illustrated novel... for more info, images & books, go to www.mlimonmartinez.com.
