Luciano Alvaro - Drummer/Teacher

About Me

Luciano began his reckless drum bashing at the age twelve. Over the years he has learnt from great Melbourne music scene players such as Daniel Luttick and Gerry Pantazis, as well as picking up a few tricks from his major influences Aquiles Priester, Mike Portnoy, Jason Bittner and many more.
In mid 2006, Luciano became the drummer for Melbourne Melodic Metal band TEARGAS. He performed on the bands 2007 release ‘A Dark Obsession EP. The band played in various venues in Melbourne, Sydney & Adelaide until they dispanded in late 2008.
In 2007, Luciano toured nationally with Stevie Rachelle, the lead singer of 80's American glam metal band TUFF. They performed shows in Sydney and Melbourne with great acceptation.
In April 2008, Luciano began working with Glam/Shock Rockers THE DEADTHINGS after the band made their triumphant return to the stage that year.
Also in 2008, Luciano became live session drummer for Singer/Songwriter and Guitarist GARY TROVATO (Ex Supercharger) upon the release of his first solo album "Somewhere Between Heaven & Hell".
In 2009, Luciano formed a new melodic rock band ANGEL DOWN, which have been working towards completing their debut album, and performing regularly throughout Melbourne. Luciano is also an avid songwriter, focusing on Progressive Rock and Funk realms.
Luciano recently completed his Advanced Diploma in Music Performance at Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE. In 2009 he is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
