The Gemixes

For those of you who don't know me, my name's genie and I'm the creator of the 'scratch guitar' style (see video). As of late I have delved into an evolution of scratch guitar in which I am sampling some of my favorite artists and weaving them into genie remixes, or as i call them 'gemixes'. Unlike typical live remixing involving the use of software such as Ableton Live, I am sampling everything live using a Line6 DL4 loop-pedal and freaking it with no laptop. The Gemixes (pronounced "...gee! mixes") features various genres including world music, dubstep, hip hop, electronica, reggae, and jazz. Some of the artists I draw my live samples from are Cheb I Sabbah, DJ Krush, Bassnectar, The Cure, Breakbeat Buddha, Modeselektor, Radiohead and various more obscure sources.
