I recently got divorced from Erica Wilder a woman I thought I would spend my life with, but I was wrong. I am currently living in Western Kentucky. I love the country but also love the urban life as well. I feel equally comfortable in both. Life is too short to pigeon hole yourself into one box.. I try to learn something everyday...I try to experience something new as often as possible, but I also try to become better at the things I love as well. I have made many mistakes in my life, but I hope I have learned from them, and I think I have. I just want to be happy now, I was in a rut for about five years of my life and I hope I never allow my self to settle into one ever again. Life if too precious and too short. I truly hope I can find a partner (female, I am straight...) to share in the pursuit of this happiness. I think we were created to be in pairs and work best that way. I hope I can find someone that can motivate me to be the best and I can motivate them to be her best. I feel a little old fashion with some modern sensibility to me. Right now I am attending the school of education at the University of Southern Indiana hoping to get an education degree by the end of next year. I have quite few college hours already from Henderson Community, Lexington Community, and the University of Kentucky, with a liberal arts associates from HCC. While I attended Henderson Community (1988-1992) I worked at the YMCA in child care and life guarding. Also during the summers I ran the Morganfield City Pool. I really enjoyed these jobs because they gave me invaluable experience working with the public and the city pool gave me a lot of experience in management and dealing with employees (I was responsible for hiring and management of staff as well). I decided it was time to move on in 1992 and moved to Lexington, Kentucky (after a short four month stay in Atlanta, GA, will skip that part-sowing wild oats-;-))and the University of Kentucky. I worked first (I have always had a job even in High School) H&R Block as a runner then a preparer, after that I worked at West Kentucky BBQ in Griffin Gate, then a few other odd service industry jobs while I was attending UK. I went from being a Poli. Sci. major to a Psych. major during this time. I also took a job being a doorman for Lynagh's Musiclub at this time also. I really enjoyed this job, it seemed more like a family at the time and a party than a job. I worked my way up to bartender and then manager. I also decided to take a break from school (kinda a mistake, but you have to take chances!) a this time as well. I worked at both the Pub and Musiclub for many years, this was a great job during these years. We had many great acts play from North Mississippi Allstars, Gov't Mule, Fastball, Rick Danko, Lester Earle and Thirteen, Ayslum Street Spankers, Jewel, Jorma, Hot Tuna, Junior Brown, Steve Earle, Project Object, and the list goes on and on. The music scene in Lexington just started to dry up after a few years so the Musiclub closed and the Pub was were I spent all my working hours. I really enjoyed this so I stuck with it. After a few years I decided to try an buy the bar and run it my way. Well I did that for about a year and a half and problems happened (and to be fair problems on both sides) and the deal fell through. An expensive lesson to learn, being don't do business with "friends", because they soon won't be. Money can really change people. Anyway around this time I picked up a "hobby", actually more of an obsession called photography. I have been working on that and going to school since my retirement from the bar business! LOL Anyway if you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at. Like I mentioned (I think?) before I am living in Western Kentucky right now and here's a sample of the scenery I see everyday Kinda culture shock because I lived near downtown in Lexington...I could go days without starting my car..I could walk to get anything I needed and noise was a constant companion. It got to the point I could tell time by the squeal of the bus breaks outside my apartment window... now I may have ten cars go by all day. In fact I lived about two blocks from a major intersection in Lexington and in the mornings and afternoons I would sit at my computer and laugh at the suburbanites trap in their cars and you could guarantee you would see a good (or bad from what your point of view is) wreck once to twice a week. I really enjoyed sitting on the porch and people watching as well. But that hobby is out the window here...I am in rural America now and there isn't even a sidewalk in front of my house. Also I really enjoyed watching the Urban wildlife. I had a tree in front of my apartment that had a knot hole in it and a rotation of squirrel and chipmunk families in it. Here's an example.... and: Know I have many more types of animals to fill my daydream hours and my camera's lens...as if you couldn't tell, I am a bit of a shutter bug... actually I am a little obsessed with it.. its better for you than most addictive things so don't knock it....also I am kinda an electronics nut as well...I have in my computer room/office/entertainment room a Mac G5, a mini mac with 3000 gigs/ 3 teragigs of storage connected to a 42 inch LG connects to a Panasonic surround sound system (7.1), XBox 360 connected to a 54 inch Panasonic Plasma Monitor that is connected as a second monitor for my on PC (laptop with dual AMD processors (wish I had gone with the intel, live and learn) with an Ion Ipod mixer that mixes two Ipods or turntables or a mix of both...and soon to have a video mixer...and lots of various little electronic toys thrown into the mix. Here's a pic of my Mini and LG and Ion from my old office: But my favourite thing in the whole world is sunrises/sunsets: birds and rainbows as well: All the above pics were taken by me...if you like I have prints for sale (I know..but you have to take advantage of every oportunity!!)
