They've been around since 2006, still kinda new band . At first they did jamming, we just consist of three person. They were Putu played guitar and singing, Adit played bass, and Bimo stick behind the drum set. After one year vacuum and did not produce anything they decided to find a new drummer so that Bimo back to his origin as a guitarist. They found Amri, low profile collegian drummer. And then they made their first breakthrough E.P. It was selftitled mini album. This first output contains a mid tempo punk rock songs. Just like 90's punk rock heroes. The setlist were No Matter What You Say, Kacamata, Saat Kita Masih Terlalu Muda, and Teman Terindah. At that moment they have played in some gigs, the biggest one was at Manchester United Cafe. Even it just a new event, it was kinda honorable moment and big landmark for this band journey.
At early 2009, Amri that couldn't adapted well with the band, went out of this band. Then The Afdals decided to play with Aulia form Wogabov. After palying at some gigs including the Bintaro Movement, Bintaro Distortion, and Indienation and also record new song that felt so different from the previous four songs, Hide It Up, Aulia decided to quit from the band due to his duty to Banjarmasin. The Afdals started to looking for a new drummer. And the choice gone to Iwak, funk drummer from Abstrak band Surabaya. This latest formation have recorded one new song Berhentilah. They also working for the next mini album released at August 2009. The music of this upcoming album is mixing of soft punk rock with chorusing and delaying guitar part with tendency to anthemic rock. Better lyrical also will be showed. Be ready.

The Afdals adalah sebuah band yang lahir pada 2006. Sebuah band baru dan anak bawang di dunia musik. Pada awalnya band ini terdiri dari tiga orang personel yaitu Putu (gitar dan vokal), Adit (bass), serta Bimo (drum). Formasi ini kemudian tidak produktif serta sempat vakum selama satu tahun. Kemudian masuklah Amri sebagai drummer. Masuknya Amri memberi nafas segar pada band ini. Dibuktikan dengan keluarnya E.P pertama The Afdals (selftitled) yang bermaterikan punk rock ringan 90an. Landmark band ini adalah ketika mereka sempat bermain di Manchester United Cafe walaupun hanya dalam sebuah event kecil.
Karena dianggap kurang cocok dan kurang mampu beradaptasi dengan band, Amri kemudian keluar pada awal 2009. The Afdals kemudian menunjuk Aulia dari band post punk Wogabov untuk mengisi part drum. Bersama Aulia, The Afdals sempat merekam sebuah lagu baru yang sangat sarat muatan post punk dan kedewasaan yaitu Hide It Up. Namun baru beberapa bulan di band, Aulia memutuskan berhenti karena mendapat tugas dinas di Banjarmasin selama beberapa tahun. The Afdals kemudian menunjuk Iwak dari band Abstrak Surabaya untuk berada di balik set drum. Merasa cocok dengan Iwak, The Afdals kemuadian mengangkat Iwak sebagai drummer tetap dan menjadi bagian dalam persiapan menuju album kedua.
