About Me

I’m a VJ, a visual jockey, a visual artist… whatever you want to call it… For those who don’t know or don’t get it, I do visual projections, live, set to the flow of phat EDM beats. Using video mixers, computers, MIDI controllers, video effects processors, cameras, DVDs, and any other video source I can tap, I mix and present visuals to compliment and enhance the vibe of the music.
I’ve been crunching pixels and tickling retinas between Milwaukee and Chicago for over 5 years, and have certainly paid my dues! I feel a good VJ can have a huge impact on the vibe and energy of a night. Conversely, I have witnessed VJ’s actually suck the energy out of a dance floor, even while the music was on point. I project more then mindfuck video, I project mood and energy. From colorfully positive to dark and evil to techy 3D to saucy sexy, I got a vibe for any genre of music that graces the decks.
I bring gear, and I use it. I distance myself from the computer, using controllers to manipulate my PC based content. Nothing irritates me more then being trapped behind a monitor with a mouse stuck to my hand. People don’t want to see a geek clicking virtual buttons on stage. Good stage presence is all about a tidy setup and knobs and sliders and blinking lights and bouncing to the beat while dropping, reversing, effecting, looping, chopping, and twisting video on the fly. I feed off the music, and if the music is bad, I loose direction, I suck. If the music is on the mark, my sets look great and my job is easy. I believe I’ve got good knack of sensing what is appropriate visual to compliment the feel of the music and the mood of the event.
Aside from the countless raves, local one offs [Summerfest (meh), Pridefest x2 (big fun! Fuckers know how to party!)], and themed events (incl. tuntableism showcases, and fetish nights!) I’ve done, check this list of names various Midwest promoters have felt me worthy of providing visuals for: Mark Farina, Ritchie Hawtin, LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad, Q-Burns, Nick Nice, Bad Boy Bill & Nick Rockwell (Nick: “dude u killed it last Sat! Thanks for all your help”; this was the best show in recent memory that I’ve done), DJ Vadim (put that one together myself. Much Luv!), Donald Glaude, James Amato, [opening VJ for] Rabbit In The Moon, Mark Verbos, Prototype 909, Ferry Corsten, ESP Woody McBride, Dieselboy, Nigel Richards, DJ Heather, Collette, Derrick Carter, Annalize, Kaskade, DJ Sneak, Gien, Hipp-E, John Acquaviva, Honey Dijon, Sombionx & Lindsay, [opening VJ for] Paul Oakenfold [‘s visual DVD; by the way, his manager can rot in hell], BT, DJ Craze… I’m sure I’m forgetting a couple here. Big thanks to James Amato (URB #2 best stateside promoter 2006) for the countless opportunities afforded me during my near 2 year residency at Mantra Lounge (URB runner up best dance club stateside 2006)! (Big Hugs! Miss ya homie!)
Honestly, I hate name dropping... with the exception of maybe one or two of these names, non of these DJ's/artists personally asked for me. Just keeping the record straight. This is a "fluff free" bio!!

What the hell is all that stuff?!?! Pt.1

So, I thought I would write up something on my vj rig. It’s been 5+ years of evolution and I think I’m getting things dialed in. (At last!!!)I’ve done some recent redesigns and added...
