THIS IS AN EXCERPT FROM "BLOOD HIGH":SHE SQUEEZED THE TRIGGER TIGHTLY, AND FOUR ROUNDS BOOMED SO LOUDLY IN THE STONE AND TILED STAIRWELL HER EARS RANG AND THROBBED. AND THE ROSEBUD SLASHER FELL BACK AGAINST THE SHADOWY GREEN TILES AS THE QUARTET OF SHELLS ENTERED HIS FABULOUS CHEST WITH A SERIES OF MEATY SMACKS AND A WAVE OF CRIMSON SPLASH. STUNNED, TERI WATCHED AS HE RIGHTED HIMSELF, BLOOD POURING COPIOUSLY FROM HIS CHEST. THE LATEX SKULL MASK GAZED DOWN AS THE SILVER CLASS RING SHIMMERED ON HIS GLOVED, RIGHT-MIDDLE FINGER, LIGHTING UP THE DARK STAIRWELL WITH A MAGNIFICENT AURA. VIOLET FISSURES SNAKED OUT OF THE RING, SAILING, DARTING INTO THE WOUNDS, AND REMOVING THE BULLETS WITH UNBELIAVABLE EASE. ANOTHER BEAM OF ENERGY CASCADED ABOUT THE GORY HOLES AND DRAINED PLASMA FROM THE SMELLY BLACK SWEATER AND BACK INTO HIS BODY. SCARLET SLITHERED QUICKLY INTO OPENED ARTERIES, DEFYING GRAVITY, SEALING FOUR GAPING CHEST WOUNDS, AND THEN THE FIBERS OF THE SWEATER WERE WEAVED BACK TOGETHER. IT WAS AS IF HE HAD NEVER BEEN SHOT.AN EXPLOSION OF THUNDER NEARLY CAUSED TERI TO PEE HER PANTS.THEN THE ROSEBUD SLASHER CLIMBED TOWARD HER.WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? His fractured jaw wobbled with a sickening splutch. His grave burst with a nauseating throb of purple energy that shot up maybe thirty feet into the air and raced even higher, then stalled in mid-flight. It wavered up there in the evil violet sky, spinning, and pointing back down toward the cemetery. Wendy was paralyzed on the upsweep of the hillock, locked on the narrow shaft; almost like a spear, or harpoon. And then it sped for her.Anyone who knows me knows that Halloween (Festival of Samhain) is my favorite holiday and that I like costumes and Gothic atmosphere.
