Queens Park Rangers F.C.

About Me

Established in 1882, QPR are based at Loftus Road in the heart of West London, W12. The club play in their famous strip of blue & white hoops, hence the nickname Super Hoops. Other nicknames supporters roar are The R's or just simply Rangers. The last time the club graced the Premier League was in 1996 - QPR are long overdue a return to the promised land, and the sleeping giant pushes for promotion back to its rightful position. It wasn't long ago QPR boasted the strongest team in London, finishing as high as 2nd in the top flight - losing out to Liverpool at the last hurdle.
The R's have traditional rivalries with Chelsea and Fulham, but in recent times have established minor rivalries with Brentford, Luton Town and from further afield, Stoke City.
QPR's greatest achievement came in 1967 when the club - then playing in the third division - became the first from that level to win the League Cup. The R's ran out 3-2 winners over top flight West Bromwich Albion at a packed Wembley Stadium. In 1982, Rangers reached the FA Cup Final, forcing Spurs into a replay which the North Londoners eventually won.
Legends to have adorned the blue & white hoops include Stan Bowles,
Les Ferdinand, Trevor Sinclair, David Seaman, Peter Crouch, Rodney Marsh, Tony Ingham, Dave Thomas, Roy Wegerle & Simon Stainrod.
Rangers currently play in The Championship and are pushing for promotion back to their rightful place in the top flight. There's a large sense of optimism around the club at the moment, as recent investment means QPR are potentially the richest football club in the world.
