About Me
Hot Pockit was created in 2004 by Jacob Almeida and
Leo Brooks, and has since become South Florida's
hottest original R&B band. With countless years of
musical training and experience, Hot Pockit brings to
the stage an overflow of natural talent and effortless
skill. Offering their unique blend of R&B, Soul, and
Reggae, with a touch of Jazz and Funk, Hot Pockit
delivers smooth vocals and a high intensity performance
that proves to be incomparable to other bands in their
genre. The members of Hot Pockit represent a variety
of cultural backrounds (Honduras, Argentina,
Dominican Republic, Australia, Puerto Rico, Cuba,
Uruguay, and the U.S.) which offer a unique palate
from which their infulences are derived, and
contributes to their universal appeal. Hot Pockit is
comprised of some of the most talented musicians in Miami
featuring, Jacob Almeida and Alex Brooks on
lead vocals, Federico Vinver on keyboards, Tony Sattel
on guitar, Ted Zimmerman on trumpet, Troy Roberts on
sax, Leo Brooks on bass and back-up vocals, Omar Tavarez
on drums, and DJ Sage on turntables. Since the founding
of the band, Hot Pockit has held residency at
Bougainvillea's in South Miami, where they they have entertained
and enthused new and veteran fans each week. Their much
anticipated self titled album will include their most
popular original songs such as "Rock My World",
"Thinking About You", "The Love You Give To Me" and
"Feelin'", will be released in fall 2006.
