Then there are the chosen few who rise to the occasion when their passion calls their name.Just ask K.PrOphet-The ChoZen One, a 22 year old female mc hails from Queens Bridge, NY home of Legendary Mcs such as Nas, Mobb Deep, Az, Alchemist, and the list goes on. K.PrOphet first got her start as an artist at the age of 17 as a Revolutionary spoken word Poet known as (Knowledge The PrOphet), spreading the message of peace, unity, and change through her gripping, deep poetry. She began her journey as a speaker to the masses. At the age of 19 she set out for a career path as a Hip-Hop Turntablist (The True art of the Dj). Taught by her mentor and friend, World Renowned Female Turntablist Dj. Val Inc. That’s when she learned her new love for music could open doors for her that she never would have imagined.When she learned her talent for turning her poetry into lyrically intense and profound verses, K. Prophet began writing songs to her own original beats, while attending school for audio engineering. It's no surprise Prophet’s no holds barred lyricism, diversity, style, delivery, and dedication is to "Change hip-hop one stud at a time", and successfully integrating the Heterosexually Dominated Hip-Hop Industry has created a buzz on the LGBT Music scene, with performances at Tempermentals, Club Rush, The Door, Queens Pride, Generation Q, LeCaire Lounge, Ife Lounge and Rockwell’s just to name a few. K.Prophet has since hit the ground running as an Emcee, Poet, Revolutionary, Writer, Producer, and Engineer. She has been working diligently to take her passion to new and exciting heights.In March of 2009 K.prophet the Chozen from Queens Bridge projects and Brick City born and bred Uniq Being originally crossed paths at their local lesbian open mic venue. Before they even were introduced, they were instant fans of one another’s music. That night prophet’s cutting edge “I’m an Ag†and Uniq’s soulful “Highway to Love†captured both their respect and admiration for each other. They later formed Project L.E.G.A.C.Y. which stands for (lesbians, excelling, gaining, acknowledgement, for creativity. yielded). They ran with the idea that many have tried but failed to integrate the hip-hop community. With an openly gay influence offering profound influential music that is undeniable, relatable, and appreciated by all, while offering the LGBTQ community a no holds barred approach to hip-hop and R&B, an image of their own. That’s where Uniq and Prophet come in, to break down barriers with their diverse, versatile, consistent creative mesh of classic hip-hop and R&B and the uncanny the ability to create such a definitive collection of irresistible music in two of its finest forms. With K.Prophets poetic thought provoking lyricism, and Uniq’s soulful melody they have embarked on a mission to make their-story and leave the missing legacy.
