Band Members:

Charles Maxey was born, 1970 in Los Angeles, California and raised in Anaheim. In 1980, at the age of 10 he studied under Dave Gaston, the lead percussionist of The Long Beach Symphony for 4 years. By the time he was 13 years old he was in his first garage band playing with a 25 and 26 year old guitarist and bassist. They never left the garage.

As he stuck with his private lessons, he participated in his high school's concert band. He also marched for the Santa Ana Winds and marched in The Hollywood Christmas Parade in 1987. Knowing himself, that marching and concert performing wasn't quite jivin', he still kept the faith by listening and playing along to his favorite rock bands of the 70's and 80's. (Cheap Trick, Zepplin, The Police, Lover Boy, Foreigner 4, Devo, Blondie, Floyd)

In 1992 he took his first plunge into his first 'rock' band, Betty Oyskin and then from 1994-1997, Backyard Elvis. In 1997-1999 Charles played drums for Los Angeles' Blue Stripe which were various members of The Beachwood Sparks and The Tyde. This is where he got his first taste of touring and recording, he never looked back.

Since then he's toured with New Bethel for 3 years from 2001 to 2004 and has been on various tours and road trips throughout his career. He is currently teaching drums for the past 5 years at Pete's Music in Anaheim. The store is located on the same block as to where he grew up and has been in business since 1978. This is still his favorite hang out.
