Having always had a passion for music, Zeke was destined to develop a career in the music industry. With an eclectic taste in music, it seemed obvious that Djing would allow him to flex his creative muscle. This creativity started in high school where he became interested in this musical medium. While classmates were playing ball or chasing tail he was teaching himself the foundations that would lead him to become the successful that he is today. Cutting his teeth playing at the local PCYC “Word!†he developed a knack for rocking the crowd.
Winning a local DJ Comp at the cherubic age of 17 he gained residency at Geraldton hot spot The Nitey. Quickly making a name for himself, he picked up several gigs around town but one was about to open his 3rd eye to the dj artform, “Freestyling 2 “ here he met DMC Veteran DJ Junior. Living in Geraldton Zeke’s exposure to the art form of djing was rather limited, but after seeing Junior use the turntable more like an instrument he realised the endless possibilities this could bring.
Deciding to enter the world of Turntablism he happily sold his CD decks and invested in a pair of the legendary Technics 1200s. Unable to remember much of what Junior did he acquired a copy of DJ Qberts – D.I.Y Scratching, and went on his way to learning this rapidly evolving artform. After spending many sleepless nights practising Zeke felt it was time meet other people who shared this passion and made the move to Perth where the culture was a little more appreciated.
Still hard at practice Zeke found himself in a position where he could better himself as a performer and prove his talent worthwhile as it was announced that the Technics State DMC competition was coming to WA. Conquering the competition without doubt Zeke is now the current State DMC Champion and continues to astonish and amaze crowds with his unique turntablist style and diverse music selection. You can catch Zeke performing at a number of venues throughout Perth and WA, or at Extended Play Pro DJ School where he teaches the beginner and advanced scratch courses.
