Terrance Phipps (Born October 28 1988) better known by his stage name "Chulo" is an up and coming rapper that was born in Manhattan, New York. After the divorce of his parents he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina at the age of 3. He fell in love with making music at the age of 13, when he started rapping. At this age he also started reading sheet music, which helped him get a better understanding of music. His northern roots caused his style to be influenced by artist such as Jadakiss, Cam'ron, and Cassidy. After getting together and forming a group called the D-Boyz with his partner Titan, Chulo started to develop a down south charismatic rap style. As he got older and his partnership with Titan grew stronger, they put out a promotional mixtape called the Crackhouse which got them local fame. Shortly after, Chulo and Titan added another member to the D-Boyz (Yung Jamez). As the popularity of the group grew stronger they started doing shows all over Raleigh. After graduating Highschool, Chulo was recruited by former artist Rok Gemz to join the Starcity movement. Rok shortly after became his manager. At this time Chulo is a full-time student at North Carolina Central University, but is still focused on his passion for music.Freestyle
