Max Grosch Music

Max Grosch was born in 1974 and started taking violin lessons at the age of 4. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory, Augsburg under Prof. Lydia Dubrovskaya. Then he was awarded a scholarship to study at the Moores School of Music in Houston/Texas, where he completed his Masters degree in Music Performance under Prof. Emanuel Borok.He then continued his studies with a scholarship in the field of Jazz at the renowned New School University in New York, where he studied with teachers such as Hal Galper, Vincent Herring, Kenny Werner, Gerard D’Angelo, John Blake, Johannes Weidenmüller and Jane Ira Bloom. At the festivals of Lake Placid and Banff/Canada he was further able to learn from and perform with musicians such as Kenny Werner, Joe Lovano, Bob Brookmeyer, Rufus Reid, Billy Hart, Bob Mintzer, Rick Pekham.In 2004 he was prize winner at the ‘Generations 2004’ festival in Swizzerland.In the past few years Max Grosch has performed in the USA, Canada, England, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenija and Germany and tought at various festivals, workshops and schools in Europe and the US.In April of 2004 the ‘max grosch quartet’ recorded their debut album with the title ‘we will see…’, which was received well by the press and radio.In 2008 the new crossover project ‘Brahms meets Jazz’ will be released as well as the new violin-organ-trio record feat. Vincent Herring.Since November of 2004 Max Grosch is holding the position for Professor for Jazz violin at the Conservatory of Klagenfurt/Austria.
