About Me
Suzanne Simone is a singer/songwriter/dancer/actress who has been performing professionally for over 10 years. Originally from the Tampa Bay in Florida, it was obvious at a very young age that the performing Arts was
Suzanne’s calling!
With a wide variety of artistic influences growing up, Suzanne spent her time singing & dancing onstage in the Theatre, Studying Classical Voice, & eventually moved into the main stream music scene! As a teen youth, she won many awards for her outstanding skills in both Theatre & Opera competitions.
Her first major leap into the main stream music scene happened accidentally when she visited a Las Vegas styled venue called, “Baypointe Supper Club.†It was here that she met Las Vegas performer, Tony Thomas, “The man with many voices,†with whom she connected immediately & was offered a position in his band! Combining her stage skills with R & B, Pop, & Jazz techniques, her place in Baypointe Supper Club was the perfect fit!
In remaining faithful to her musical theatre roots, Suzanne was honored in being accepted as a 4 year Broadway Theatre Project apprentice studying under some of Broadway’s finest including; Ann Reinking, Debra Mc Waters, Mary Walkley, Anetta Monroe, Adrian Angel, Savion Glover, Gregory Hines, Jeff Calhoun, Rick Pessangno, John Parks, Dave Clemmons, Ron Piretti, & many more. It was during the rigorous workshops & rehearsals at the “Project†where Suzanne realized that her passion for the Performing Arts would be a life long love affair!
One of her favorite Musical Theatre endeavors was playing, "Cassie" in A Chorus Line," under the direction of Rocko Morabito, & choreographer, Ronnie DeMarco!
Continuing on her journey, Suzanne was the first recipient of the Pinellas County Opera League Scholarship Award. She attended the University of South Florida where she studied classical voice in studio, in workshops, & onstage as the youngest full opera member casted. She also competed at N.A.T.S. Opera competition, winning 1st place in her division for two consecutive years. While training, Suzanne graduated with her B.A. degree in Communications (Performance Concentration), & her minor in Theatre Studies.
Throughout college Suzanne competed in the Miss America Scholarship Pageants where she received the titles of Miss University of South Florida & Miss Pinellas County. The best advantages of the Miss America Organization was the exposure that Suzanne received as an Artist, the scholarship money which aided towards her University, & the impact that she was able to make in the community through her platform, “Improving the Quality of Life for Senior Citizens,†a plight against exploitation, neglect, & abuse.
Also during college, Suzanne sang 5 nights a week at the beautiful Saddlebrook Country Club & Resort, a fantastic experience which continued throughout the years until 2008. She also sang with an upscale 13 piece Corporate Song & Dance band for 7 years, & had the extreme honor of being a back-up singer to Singer/Songwriter Carmel Helene, who is currently touring with Miley Cyrus. She also taught dance at Soulful Arts Dance Academy, & taught Musical Theatre Workshops at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center in Tampa, Florida.
In the pursuit of life in the big city, Suzanne moved to Denver, Colorado in January 2009. She sings over 200 cover songs, & never loses the excitement that she possessed when she first began performing them. She has performed in New York City, Ceasar’s Palace Las Vegas, & Switzerland as well as the Tampa Bay & Denver scenes!
She is currently on her way to recording her first original album, & has been writing lyrics for as long as she can remember with plans to launch her music as soon as possible! It is all of her experiences onstage & off that have defined her as the versatile, classy young artist that she is today! She has uniquely developed her own style of singing which is a fusion of her classical training techniques, artistic influences, & genuine heart which shines through every time she performs!
"I have always felt so blessed to have trained & studied with such amazing artists, & my experience onstage is something that I wouldn't trade for the world."
"The ability to touch someone's life with music is one of the greatest feelings an artist can ever know."
Artistically Yours,
Suzanne
