About Me

The Serpents were a leisure-centric group of young, independently wealthy forefathers of the avant-garde in the late eighteenth century. They were comprised of all skin-tones and belief systems, but the power of the snake held them together. The initiation rites were carefully guarded, yet historians have established that they involved a gruelling run through a mile long snake pit and a bare-knuckle fist fight with an octopus. Many aristocrats of the day attempted these trials in hope of Serpents induction. All but the most wily and fecund contenders perished.Between those that succeeded – the twenty Founding Fathers of The Serpents – they owned all the major steelworks, sugar crops and maritime ventures of the day. Legend has it that they could never all meet in one place, lest some tragedy occur and no Serps would be left to continue the legacy. For one hundred years, the Serpents ruled the seven seas, and to celebrate their century of rule, they elected to break convention and sail to a desert island to fuck some shit up. Their prestigious ocean liner, with twenty cooks and a hundred whores, chanced upon inclement weather somewhere in the Dead Sea. All the Serps went down with the ship. The ship sank to the floor of the ocean, and Miraculously the Serps were all OK. In a small air pocket in the keel of the great boat, the Serps systematically killed and ate the surviving cooks and whores. Realising that their days were numbered, and recognising the golden rule that ‘Serp Shall Not Eat Serp’, all twenty men jerked off into an empty Rum bottle, labelled it Serpent Juice in indelible ink, and sent it to the surface. All the original Serps perished undersea in their finest garments. Some time in the late nineteen hundreds, the Serpent Juice washed ashore in Melbourne. A group of buxom women, mistaking it for Rum, shared the contents of the bottle. 9 months later, The Serpents were resurrected, in the form of Strapping young men, boldly astute and fearfully insightful. The Legacy lives on…
