About Me
Increasingly regarded as one of the most significant socially relevant genres of contemporary art, Hiphop is so much more than just music genre. It is a 30 year-old cultural movement in which highly skilled artists, the majority street trained or self taught, use distinctive styles of dance, music, theater and visual art to address issues of social or political concern.

P.A.T.H. launched its first summer apprenticeship program in June 2008. The P.A.T.H. apprenticeship has been designed to increase awareness of the breadth and richness of Hiphop culture. The participants, teens ages 14 to 18, were taught Hiphop history and philosophy and introduced to the four elements of Hiphop: Urban Arts, Emceeing (Rapping), Deejaying, and B-boying or B-girling (commonly known as break dancing). Award-winning filmmaker Dan Perez, filmed a documentary featuring the program, which will be premiered in spring of 2008.
