In 1939, members of the Pennsylvania National Guard were called to active duty to assist in the second Great War. This took a toll on many of the state’s businesses and institutions. One institution was quite short-staffed – the Saylorsburg Asylum for the Criminally Insane. In addition to the small staff, only one lone security officer remained to guard the patients. What you will experience here is based on an eyewitness account of what occurred one dreadful night, as the inmates of the asylum overtook the staff which was lead by one Dr. Slaughter to claim bigger and more comfortable living arrangements: the beautiful Lake House Hotel, which was originally established in 1820 and was once a prestigious resort location for the rich and famous. After many years of being subjected to the torture of the infamous Dr. Slaughter, the inmates had become zombies. Their bodies rotted away to dust, but their souls remained. These spirits roamed the halls hoping for a new unsuspecting host. No person dared to enter this evil building – or so everyone thought…
In the late 1950’s, the despicable Bubba Putzer took over the hotel and forced the immortal Dr. Slaughter to flee in search of another location where he might continue his demented experimentation on unsuspecting human subjects. Bubba then moved his entire family out of the woods and into the Lake House Hotel. They scavenged the surrounding area for years to find food, surviving on Grandpa’s beef jerky and moonshine which they found at the bottom of an old shaft in the basement. The Putzers have now reopened this once grand hotel for tours, in an attempt to lure more bodies – I mean customers - to the fourth floor wax museum. We invite you to the Lake House Hotel to witness a new dimension of terror.
