Sonic Aggregate formed in 1998 when Craig and William started their audio dabblings with nothing more than a Korg DW8000 and a Boss drum machine. Money was tight back in the old days, but soon Craig (aka Crandaddy/60 Hrz Freq) bought a 16ch mixer, and William (aka Houston/Hu-Man) bought a couple of synths. Before they knew it, they had meshed together a unique free-flow style of electronic music which begged for further experimentation.
Darrin (aka Blaqberry/Big Daddy) and Hu-Man had known each other since 1986, and were both members of the band Of Nebadon. Blaqberry soon began making the run from Owensboring, KY, to Evanshell, IN, twice a week. The free-slow style of early Sonic Aggregate began to take on more structure, and creativity further blossomed. More gear was bought, (never enough gearhehehe) and many CDs were made.
In 2003, Sonic Aggregate produced the album, Transfer. This album was a collection of their personal favorites from their 16 CD catalog of songs. By the time Sonic Aggregate 18 was finished (and barely finished at that), life was morphing and transforming the lives of Sonic Aggregate. Crandaddy became the father of a beautiful daughter. Hu-Man packed up and moved to Florida. Blaqberry opened up a new life with honesty and pride. The Aggregate had been mined, refined, polished, and spent.
The five year career of Sonic Aggregate will forever be a milestone in our lives. Twice a week we layed down tracks, downed some brews, and picked on each other as only the best of friends can.
Perhaps someday we'll mine that rockpile again...
