About Me

The 'Timeline' in the Blog on this page is now up at puppetgov.com/?p=7693 in a form with graphics and immediate links. Please see wireonfire.com/donpaul/index for more music and links. Here are some things that I think are great. The myspace video of LAURA NYRO at http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.channel&am p;ChannelID=36376668. THOMAS MANN's essay 'Goethe and Tolstoy'. Anything by AESCHYLUS. Anything by ERIC DOLPHY. RIMBAUD's 'A Season in Hell" and 'Democracy'. Swimming underneath a waterfall. The painters mentioned at the bottom of this block.... "Wish For Peace" and "All On" were recorded with my brother, KENTON HULME, on December 27, 2008. A famous heroine's voice is basis for the "louf" in " 'Love You". A lesser-known tribe's imitation of deers' mating-calls also figures in this track. One villain in particular--whose voice sounds like Crackerjacks--is the inspiration for "My Old Man".... The photo foremost on this myspace homepage is of a house a-building in the Upper 9th Ward of New Orleans. It was taken by Rebuild Green volunteer JAIME HAZARD in June 2007The triumphal pair atop the first-floor of our S. C. I. P. house for ROBERT and ELAINE LEGIER are New Orleans' natives O. C. DRAUGHAN and STANLEY COVINGTON.Now, what does this photo have to do with a 'Band Bio'? Well, it lets me link you to work in New Orleans. And New Orleans is one big birthing-place of the popular music that's moved me immeasurably. New Orleans has everything to do with the America that I want to know and communicate--the America that crosses Hemispheres.I'm thinking that this myspace address can serve as at least the gateway to a site that's like both an old Music Shop--like Werlein's was for New Orleans--and like present-day meeting-places for Internet communication. In the course of putting together a CD for Mother's Day I saw that dozens of tracks of mine--78 turned out to be their total--could be made available for listening online. Dozens more tracks by artists whom I've produced could be added. Possibilities for communication could be increased multifold. In the meantime, there are the six tracks here at myspace, and the score or so at wireonfire.com/donpaul, available for listening. If you want more information about S. C. I. P. housing (Structural Concrete Integrated Panels), you can check out Rebuild Green's Second Anniversary Update from Fall of 2007--http://www.rebuildgreen.org/fall07.html .News about our beginning to install earth-energy systems in the Upper 9th Ward is at the current Update--http://www.rebuildgreen.org/ . This Update also features an episode of Ed's Up TV that's hosted by ED ROBERTSON of the band Barenaked Ladies. Links to images and information from those who helped this site are the 'lyrics' section for tracks above on this page. In the 'pics' section you can see paintings by CANDIDO PORTINARI and LUCY TEJADA and art-work by CHRISTOPHER CARDINALE and MAC MCGILL. More links and albums and books are at wireonfire.com/donpaul/index. May you have and make many satisfactions.
