The Death of Social Networking
In the begining it was cool, you made your profile on myspace and you added your buddies. Then you found other friends that were friends of your friends and that was cool to.
But then you got that first wtf? link. Maybe it was your mom, or maybe your little dorky brother or that guy you met at the coffee shop who you only barely knew, but you wanted to be nice so you added them
Then came the flood, one after another people who you vaguely knew so you had to go and check to see who their friends were just to make sure that this was in fact a person who actually knows you. and now here you are with 500 friends each one telling you every day little details about their lives, like you cared. All the while your real friends, or the long lost friends that you might actually want to talk to wonder why you haven't responded to their request.
so what do you do? you try facebook!, but then the same thing starts to happen so you join a usefull network, like maybe linkedin? or maybe you join youtube or slashdot, or or or.. now everything is a friggen social network!
