About Me
LOVE KILLS 1994 - 2000
After The Bips stopped playing in 1994, Jozzy Rubenski (vocals/Guitar) went looking for new punk-rockers to keep the PUNK spirit alive.
In the summer of '97, after various efforts, the time wasright to continue with the sound and the spirit of The Bips.
The same sound, the same spirit, but now with new people.
LOVE KILLS is not a copy of The Bips, it's a continuation and it has the same power of the original '77 PUNK.
That's why LOVE KILLS also plays songs from The Bips, simply because it's own material and still worth playing.
Ofcourse, in the meantime, a lot of new '77 PUNK songs characteristic to LOVE KILLS are created.
LOVE KILLS keeps the spirit of the original '77 PUNK sound alive and refuses to go with the flow of neo-punk and all that skate-shit.
Until now, a tape 'We're the reason…Punk Not Dead' and a CD 'No Show * No Gimmick * No Tricks' are released; the CD has already been played several times on the Dutch national radio.
LOVE KILLS also contributed a few songs to compilation cd's, for example 'Hollandse Herrie II' from the Windmill label of Marco Roelofs (De Heideroosjes).
A lot of PUNK-ROCK gigs were already played, together with DEE DEE RAMONE, DEAD MOON, UK SUBS, THE EX, BUZZCOCKS, DANDRUFF, JAMMAH TAMMAH, THE VIBRATORS and many more.
Barbie L.L. plays bass in LOVE KILLS, in 1997 in a few months she learned to play the bass and she is also one of the few PUNK-ROCK girls on stage.
In june 2000, Marcel joined LOVE KILLS on the drums, before LOVE KILLS he played in Circle of Friends.
LOVE KILLS is a D.I.Y-band: not in for the money, just 100% PUNK-ROCK.
