Bruce has been successfully involved in the music business professionally since the early 80’s. He grew up in eastern Iowa and in 1980 he was invited to join an acoustic group that became (Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee) Bowman, Pickney and Evans. BP&E is still a popular acoustic trio in the Clinton, Iowa area, continuing to perform together about 6 times a year. In response to fan requests in 1985, Bruce was a founding member of IV Pauli, a rock band nominated for the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, who opened for numerous bands such as Cheap Trick, Quiet Riot, Gregg Allman and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Multi-talented, Bruce played electric guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboards, harmonica and shared lead singing duties for the band. As a member of IV Pauli in the early 90’s Bruce performed with Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits. He has also sung on stage with The Beach Boys.
In 1996 Bruce left the full-time music business and moved to Minnesota but he continues to perform a popular solo act on a regular basis in the Minneapolis area, as well as perform with his bass player, Shaun Cesar, from IV Pauli in northern Iowa. Bruce performs his originals and covers a wide range of artists such as Tom Petty, The Beatles, John Mayer, U2, and Green Day to Keith Urban, Johnny Cash, and Neil Diamond.
