Welcome to my page :) I'm Laura! I play fiddle and have just started to finally sing... (watch your eardrums!)I played with Swingin' fiddles for a good few years and was lucky enough to travel many places touring including Canada, Australia and America.I enjoy playing music which is just that little bit different and I tend to make my own style and interpret tunes in a 'laura-way'! I won the Shetland Young Fiddler of The Year award and think I'm lucky to come from Shetland where the music is simply great. The good old Shetland folk festival had a lot to do with my motivation to keep practising when I first started the fiddle all those many moons ago - by far the best festival...so get there!Currently playing with the Pictones in Aberdeen and have started a new little band with Simon Gall and Davie Cattanagh so watch this space! :)I compose a lot of tunes and have recently started writing songs so I'll get some up at some point... once I finally figure out how to work this site...! I'm currently in Aberdeen studying but love to pop home to Shetland and off to festivals here, there and everywhere!
