Originally from Gainesville FL, Tree has been making and performing music almost his whole life. A trained tenor and baritone saxophonist and vocalist, he learned to mix records at the age of 14 and started DJing at small parties and events shortly after. His first real introduction to the world of electronic music was as a teenager in the early 90s going to the legendary Simon's nightclub in his hometown of Gainesville, FL years before he was old enough to get in (sometimes it pays to be tall). There he was able to experience performances by many of the greats of electronic music including Electric Skychurch, Lil Louis Vega, Keyoki, DJ Ani, Paul van Dyk, Three, Super DJ Dmitry, Dubtribe, Josh Wink, & Doc Martin just to name a few.He continued with this new found passion when he moved to South FL to go to university where he majored in music. Soon after moving, he met several DJs and promoters in the South FL scene and began promoting events. He was heavily involved in the Drum n Bass scene as well as House, Electro and Breaks. It was during this time that he hooked up with the guys in the ska band King 7 and the Soulsonics and after a short time with them, switched to playing sax for their 'sibling' band, a two-tone ska/swing band called The Double Agents. While playing with The Double Agents he opened for such bands as The Toasters (twice), The Slackers, Mustard Plug, Skavoovie and the Epitones, Spring Heeled Jack, Inspector 7, Bim Scala Bim, Magadog, MU330, Five Iron Frenzy, The Amazing Royal Crowns, Regatta 69, Slow Gherkin, fellow Gainesville natives Less than Jake and many more.During this time he started producing and doing arrangements and sequencing for various projects from hip-hop, breaks and house tracks to ska and blues. After the breakup of the Double agents and his realization of his love of working in the studio, Tree transferred to Full-Sail where he got his degree in Recording Arts in 2000.After taking a hiatus from the dance music scene which included a move to Berlin, Germany Tree was discovered by a Producer/Songwriter who liked his voice enough to start a Hip-Hop Project with him in 2002. During this time they recorded several tracks together and performed in cities across Germany, including a show in front of a 9000 person audience in Würzburg.Tree got back into DJing again a couple years ago and started getting gigs which led to a residency at Rodeo-Berlin. Since then he's spun at several venues around town and built up a reputation as someone who always knows how to keep a dance floor full, heads bouncing and asses shaking. When he's not spinning the newest Electro, New-Rave and Blog-Haus tracks, you might hear him playing some hot Minimal and Dub Techno or some floor thumpin Tech-House. He's also known for his crowd pleasing sets of classics (as heard at Rodeo) in which he can be heard playing Disco, Hip-Hop, Funk, Indie- rock/tronic, Soul, Electro, 80s/New Wave, Post-Punk, 90s party hits and House all mixed together.[LOVEMYFLASH]
