I am a trading floor support technician for a fixed income environment.
This title sounds splashy, cool, and high paying.
It’s none of these.
Essentially, All I do is make certain that the 500 people I sit with every day are able to
move papers from their desk to others and back again.
When they can not move these papers, they get cranky. If they can not move papers for any extended period of time,
They say they are losing money... translated, they are losing pieces of paper.
This makes other people cranky and may lead to me not getting my weekly piece of paper
that states that even more pieces of paper have been added to my bank account
(Which is just my place where I store pieces of paper that will eventually be given to
other people, usually for things that are not pieces of paper.)
If these people can move the pieces of paper around, then if they lose money, it is not my
fault, but they will still blame me.
Much like all bad carpenters, it is the equipment to blame.
You see, the career path of almost any person in the corporate business world, regardless
of company, has only 1 basic purpose.
That purpose is to move pieces of paper from one side of the desk to the other.
If you have chosen a career in corporate work, your job is to move, create or destroy
those papers.
You may disagree, but think about it. Everything is paper related.
Nowadays a lot of this paper is electronic. We call it information as a synonym, but all
that means is we have Electronic paper...
just another paper system someone created and found a way to move it around.
I have a friend who works for a company where his main focus is creating documents for
other companies....

Recently, I saw three apes sitting around a thatch of twigs.
This isn't odd, and is apparently very common for apes.
Whenever you see three apes, monkeys or gorillas together, pay close attention, as it will always lead to an epiphany.
One Ape was picking a choosing a stick from the pile, breaking it into smaller sticks and
handing them one at time to the second ape
This Ape, would them take the stick, examine it, and then place it in a pile to his left.
The third ape was then taking each small stick from the pile, and eating it.
I said to the tour guide "we should leave them alone, they're working."
No one understood me.
I am a firm believer in evolution... I don’t think it has done much aside from made us less hairy.
