not to be corny but my family is my biggest interest; Nothing makes life worth living like family and friends and some of best friends are my family members. I have also enjoyed my work for SurfAid. It's amazing to go to work to give 120% to raise money to save lives. I did a lot in just over two years there to raise the profile and awareness worldwide of SurfAid's mission taking ti to a whole new level. I do look forward to continue to make a difference in whatever work I do. I'd like to find a way to make a difference with projects in Mexico and here in the U.S.Music and Film are still a major passion in my life and always will be. There really isn't anything like sitting and going through my collection of music, listening to new and old. The old always painting pictures of the memories, era's and time period's in life. What keeps me sane and centers me is surfing. It's not a sport to Me it's a necessity a medicine, it's my Church, my answers, my centering, my yoga and meditation.
20 + years in the music world has me into pretty diverse tastes. I listened to easy listening style love songs alot as a sensative kid in the 70's but I'm all over the map; Deep into cutting edge music in the mid 80's onward and worked at 91X in San Diego '88-'96 where I was lucky enough to play some of these bands on the radio very early in their careers; Blink, P.O.D., Jewel, Rocket From the Crypt, rust, Inch, Creedle, Lucy's Fur Coat, Convoy, and so many others. I tried to sign; Atmosphere, POD, Macy Gray, At the Drive In, Modest Mouse, MXPX, Convoy, Lucy's Fur Coat, and alot of bands my bosses just didn't get But I did sign and continue to love Justin Clayton and The Incredible Moses Leroy, I A&R'ed albums by the exies and Dogstar as well.I love music from Hendrix to Tool, Jackson Browne to Rimsky-Korsakov, Interpol to James Taylor, The Cure, the Cult (the old stuff), old old old OMD to the Scorpions and ACDC is amazing, Derrick May to Marvin Gaye, The Spinners to Aphex Twin. There are thousands and thousands of bands that I love that never saw the light of day from all over the U.S., Australia and Europe. The Jaynes from Aus, Autour De Lucie from France and Stina Nordenstam from Sweden. Gotta Love; Specimen, Colourbox, Wilco, This Mortal Coil, Deadcandance, Bauhaus, Tones ON Tail, Van Halen, Joy Division, Echo & the Bunneymen (pre-dancing horses, yuck), Joe Jackson, The Tubes, Pink Floyd, Jeff Buckley, McCoy Tyner, THE BENDS, Heaven 17, I'll have to come back to this....
I've been on alot of TV and Movie sets and worked on a few as well; too many loves to list here but I'll try a few; The Godfather, The Way We Were, Butch & Sundance, Dogtown & Z-Boys (should've won an oscar for innovation in film making with his use of scan and pan), Bladerunner, Litmus, Morning of the Earth and Glass Love; Bridge of the River Kwai, The Green Berets, Pale Rider and most of Clint's movies in front of and behind the camera; Heather's, Brasil, Black Sheep and Tommy Boy, Pulp Fiction is brilliant of course and I could just go on
people who can be honest and live life with honor and integrity. they are really hard to find. even in the Aid business.
