You see, for nearly 60 YEARS the Tibetans have fought their corner while maintaining an approach of non-violence advocated by their political and spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama. But, as it appears often to be the case, that while we in the West want to help, we just don't know what to do for the best. WELL, we at The Prince Albert have decided its time for us to help, by doing what we do best, by making a noize!
So while the Tibetans continue with their struggle to free their own land from the clutches of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), we're going to give them a hand by injecting some energy and enthusiasm into their campaign with music, art, dance and all forms of creativity that we can think of and hopefully, along the way, raise some money for Tibet Relief Fund. BUT, most importantly, we want to raise AWARENESS at this time - especially now that all the drama and press coverage of the Olympic Games has died down - and eventually, we hope, leading to more events throughout the UK and beyond. So right now we simply want your energy, creativity and love! And we want you to get in touch with us, giving us potential venues and people who want to be involved on any level.
Its our intention that the Tibetan people will benefit either by listening to our podcasts on the internet (which some people are able to access in Tibet - and which they tell us helps to keep their spirits up), through raised funds, or simply through our good intention and positive energy.
We will be singing, shouting, painting and generally ''Making A Noize for Tibet'' every month, with bands, musicians and artists generously donating their time and energy to this very worthy cause. So we cordially invite all those with a love of freedom and fun to join us in this project which kicked off on June 29th 2008, and will continue in this, and other venues until Tibet is Free! The more support we get, the bigger we can go, ultimately making a noise that wont go away!
So we are taking the words of the Dalai Lama to heart, who says, ''Never give up'' No matter how desperate the situation, No matter how difficult it appears, No matter how tired and weary we may become, ''NEVER GIVE UP!''
