When I think of interests, I think of that Notorious B.I.G. song where he says;“Soon as he buy that wine I just creep up from behind And ask what your interests are, who you be with Things to make you smile, what numbers to dial You gon' be here for a while, I'm gon' go call my crew You go call your crew We can rendezvous at the bar around twoâ€What interests me is that someone out there cares enough to ask.
Who would I like to meet? I hate to say this but I would like to meet people who are interesting. If you only have one idea about the world then you are not the kind of person I would like to meet. Be open-minded and prepare to have to defend your beliefs. If you believe in something you better be prepared to relay to me why they are important to you. Don’t be a common serf and obey because that’s what you were taught. I want to meet people who know themselves or at least want to know themselves. The music I love and can’t live without is Disco, R & B and Hip-Hop. If a song has a good beat and I can sing along, I’ll listen to it. Music is a big part of my life.
The movies that I enjoy are: 300, the Highlander, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Snatch, Kung Fu Hustle, the Matrix, the Chronicles of Riddick, the Time Machine, the Count of Monte Cristo, JFK, the Untouchables, Interview with the Vampire, Running Scared, Natural Born Killers, the Prestige, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, V for Vendetta, War of the Worlds, Equilibrium, Cloverfield, Iron Man, and many more. If you have a movie with plenty of action and a good story, you’ve got me there watching and having a good time.
My favorite TV shows are; Desperate Housewives, Heroes, Smallville, Law and Order, Ugly Betty, the Simpsons, American Dad, Family Guy, and Las Vegas. This list is subject to change based on the fact that sometimes a show runs out of gas and starts to suck big time.
I am a reader and have had many favorites over the years. Since I won’t waste time by listing all the titles, I will amuse myself with just a list of the authors that wrote them. I enjoy books by: Wilbur Smith, Ann Rice, Tom Clancy, Sidney Sheldon, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, just to name a few. This list is subject to change as I read more and more books and remember authors that I haven’t yet listed here.
My heroes? The countless men and women who were ripped from their native land and forced to make the horrible journey across the Atlantic Ocean in chains to be forced into a life of servitude and death. The countless men and women who gave their lives for the rights we enjoy and exploit today. The countless men and women who had to sit at the back of the bus, had to enter and eat at the back, who where intimidated and killed, who were forced into poverty, who were denied an education, and who were denied protection under the law. My heroes? The people today who remember that we are still fighting and are willing to continue the work of our forefathers.
