About Me

Stuart Meltzer is a director, writer & teacher. Meltzer has just finished his third season with City Theatre Summer Shorts. For Summer Shorts, Meltzer has directed plays from such playwrights as Paul Rudnick, Terri Wegner, Rich Orloff and Deborah Zoe Laufer among other great ones. Some regional credits include, Painted Alice, Barefoot Boy With Shoes On, Boston Marriage, Cowboy Mouth, Sweet Eros, Lysistrata, Gint, Striptease, The Philanthropist, Some Things You Need to Know When the World Ends & I Love You Forever which he also wrote. Stuart is an instructor at New World School of the Arts in Miami. As an academic director, Meltzer has directed Orchards, Metamorphoses, Godspell, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Fever & Poor Muderer among others. This coming season's projects include, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Animals & Plants, Angels in America and Marat/Sade- The last two as part of The New World School of the Arts season. Stuart received is M.F.A. in directing. Meltzer is thrilled to be working on two film scripts, The first in the final stages, Better than Damn Good, with Michael McKeever and Mourning.
