About Me

I'll take a stab at being serious, since my profile has previously been silly. Actually, it was downright hilarious, but too bad you missed it. I'm a pretty down to earth person. I value my faith and family, and have had the good fortune of having GREAT friends. You know, the kind that don't just stand on the sidelines cheering you on, but the ones that actually get in the game with you and take the ball for awhile. Hopefully you have experienced the same. I've got 4 kids, three are teenagers. That's right---CHAOS. Do you know what I'm talking about? They are bright, musically talented, athletically talented, have wonderful senses of humor, are talented in theatre, constantly running here and there, and are utter joys. And yes, I yell at them anyway. They have managed to stay out of trouble so far, and confide in me still...(*crossing my fingers*)...but in all honesty, I won't rest until the fat lady sings. What am I saying? That's not nice. We're a 'Stage Family', meaning we all love to perform on stage. We sing, dance, act, and some of us are especially good at improv. (If you know us, you'll know which ones--hee hee) Well, enough about the family. People generally like my sense of humor, unless they are in pain. For instance, a kidney stone makes a hilarious joke pretty much not funny at all. So I have learned what health issues are solemn and which are not....periodontal disease: solemn; finger amputation: not solemn---just ask my brother, he's getting alot of mileage out of losing his pinky. Speaking of health, I am a nurse who works with Cardiologists, which means I have developed some opinions over the years. For instance,I think many heart attacks can either be prevented or delayed a few years by eating well and exercising (accomplished by chasing and catching the food you eat), being in a good relationship(8/10), avoiding alcoholism, seeing a doctor regularly(kill 2 birds with one stone and date him/her), and getting a dog. What I mostly do in my job is conduct nuclear exercise stress tests. I'm checking for signs that would indicate blocked or partially blocked arteries. We joke ALOT so as to relax people during the test, and sometimes people get chest pain. (Not from my jokes, no matter how lame) P.S. Heart things FASCINATE me. Someday I want to participate in research studies...when I grow up, as they say.(Of course, If we were playing in a sandbox, I would choose to be the researcher and you would have to be the guinea pig.) Something else fascinates me: People and how life happens. Much of life is funny to me and interesting. I like most people, but especially people who are witty or deep thinkers. For some reason, people like to corner me and tell me some of their dark secrets, as well as intimate health issues. This is ok, as long as it's not on stage during a show. I'm not THAT good at improv. Somehow, people know I like them and will accept them. The Midwest has been good to me. My current life goals are to get my kids to their activities on time and to not embarrass them more than they deserve. Sunflower - Blue myspace layout Sunflower - Blue myspace layout ..
