The Sneaky Beatnik

Behold... The Sneaky Beatnik!

About Me

I'm a musician, an engineer, a philosopher, a comedian, an entertainer, and a powerful wizard. I played keyboards for Claybourne's Dead and guitar on the side. I also play saxophone, but I forget that fact since I haven't picked one of mine up in months. I'm very easy going, a huge dork, and almost impossible to offend. I can come off as a goofball at first because I am. Honest because I have no need to be otherwise, insightful, introspective, and wise beyond my years (yet not near wise enough to be called "wise"). I enjoy simple things, and complex things alike. I feel everything has it's purpose, everyone has their part to play. I love to solve the mysteries of the universe. If I have any enemies, I do not consider them so. I also take great interest in the matters of politics and the world, yet I admit my views are still in the forging fires. I enjoy small gatherings, entertaining people, and pure creation. I am at my most satisfied when I illicit an emotional movement in people. I love nature, plants and animals, yet I feel I neglect them all these days. I am human, and suffer the pros and cons that come with being as such. I can be stubborn, absent-minded, or distant sometimes. I accept people for who they are, and all I expect in return is the same. We are the children of monkey and angel, the animal and the divine. God is within us all, the light of creation burning bright in our souls. These dark times are the product of a dead weight produced by our inability to move forward. Hatred, greed, war, and tyranny can easily be overwhelmed by peace, love, and understanding. Don't be afraid. "And this too shall pass..."

My Interests

Music, of course! Anything that moves me, be it rock, bluegrass, classical, edm, folk, or random noise. I'm big into video games, computers (I'm a Mac man), movies, politics, philosophy, spirituality, and art. I like to listen to the trees, even though I don't understand what they are saying. Good company and good spirits. I don't want to sound too redundant.

I'd like to meet:

Old friends and aquaintances as well as new friends.

Music:

Tool, Mudvayne, NIN, Pink Floyd, Marilyn Manson, AFI, Tori Amos, Type O Negative, Rammstein, Stone Temple Pilots, Pantera, 311, Smashing Pumpkins, Led Zeppelin, Orbital, Underworld, White/Rob Zombie, A Perfect Circle, Thrice, Soundgarden/Rage/Audioslave, David Bowie, Daft Punk, System of a Down, Jane's Addiction, Duran Duran, Alice in Chains, Bad Religion, Prince, The Crystal Method, Gorillaz, The Prodigy, Depeche Mode, Evanescence, Deftones, Frank Zappa and TMOI, Queens of the Stoneage, Tenacious D, Garbage, Incubus, Lynard Skynard, King Crimson, Outkast, Tears for Fears, and neo-classical composers such as Wojciech Kilar, James Horner, Basil Poledouris, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Howard Shore, Danny Elfman, Trevor Jones, David Arnold, and Baz Luhrmann.

Movies:

WAAAAAAAY too many to list. I'm an ex-film student, so anything on the A.F.I.'s top 100 list by default, even if I've never seen it. O_o Dark comedies, animation, tragedies, historical epics, adventure... my tastes are diverse, and my DVD collection sizeable.

Television:

I haven't had cable since I moved. Oddly enough, watching television (especially commercials) after long periods of tele-celebacy makes you feel realy more stupider.

Books:

Philisophical, historical, sociological, (auto)biographies, fantasy/sci-fi, and good classic literature. I'm not big on contemporary authors of fiction/literature at the moment.

Heroes:

Trent Reznor, Josh Silver, Flake, Tori Amos, Vash the Stampede, George S. Patton, Mithrandir, Hunter Thompson, Desmond Morris, but the two who have had the most impact on who I am are Amanda Chapman and Crystal Shuford

It's stress that kills me.

I've been stressed over this or that for so long, I think I've forgotten what life was like before. I think that when this is all over, I'll be myself again. I think I'll be able to go to parties an...
