Bio:
Bas Amro (1991), born in Enschede, The Netherlands, noticed his passion for electronic music by the age of 11, inspired by the greater dance artists, he instantly knew this was going to play a big role in his life. So it didn't take that long for him to start making his own music. He was 12 years old when he became one of those boys who wanted their friends to listen to his new tracks everyday. There was no-one he knew who could teach him the best way, the professional's choice. Still, Kenquo managed to find his way through the hard world of producing music by the primitive method of simple trial and error.
At his 14th, he bought his first set of decks and the second he touched the spinning records, something felt.. right. As said before, there was no one he knew who could teach him to be a good dj, he had to push his own way to learning everything there is to learn about spinning records. Nobody could take him away from his bedroom for a long time. Kenquo kept focussing on creating his own sound, and in the end, he did. One day he realised the key to his sound was simply 'as long as it's inviting to dance'. The records Kenquo plays can be beautiful, sad, happy, deep and shallow, but all of them have a special beat, some interesting drums, or an addictive rhythm.
Naturally, what you like is what you want, so by that time he started taking music producing serious. It took a while until he found his groove in making music. But after he did, things started going crazy. At his 16th Kenquo went from one remix to another, not taking time to catch his breath. He could only hope this would be the right thing to do, and it appeared to be so. His first original mixes are starting to see the daylight, and they are getting support by the greater dj’s. With his growing network of connections at great dj’s and great record labels, Kenquo’s future looks promising.
