We are the Downtown Social Club, a collection of young, ambitious, and social professionals living and playing within Downtown Los Angeles. We are connected by a love for this city, a vision of it's future and a common goal of having a place to call home that is lively, safe, prosperous, and fun.Our mission is to patronize local businesses so that they may thrive. To support the entrepreneurs that have opened their doors to provide us with food, entertainment, goods and other assorted wares. We would like to build a sense of community, a feeling of camaraderie, and strong friendships in what will soon be our very own 65 block playground.One day soon, you'll be able to walk into any downtown restaurant, and see friends sitting at several random tables. The waiter will know your name and the bartender will know your drink. You might get a discount at this restaurant, or the best table at another. You may get free drinks at this bar, or skip the line in front of another. On any given night, you'll be able to send up a signal flare telling your fellow social club members, "I'm hungry, does anyone want to go to Ciao, or Wockano, or anywhere?" and five people will respond and meet you there. You'll be able to ask, what's good on a Wednesday night, and have five replies. You'll be able to ask how the food is somewhere, and get recommendations from people who know.Best of all, you'll have friends in the neighborhood. Many of us in the area are transplants, reinventing ourselves along with the city we live in. There are 28,000 some odd people living in downtown; how many do you know? There's nothing better than walking down the street and having people smile and wave at you. To walk into a crowded bar and hear people shout your name and wave you over to join them for a drink. To feel like you belong in the city where you reside.
